Xbox 360 how to upgrade hard drive?
ive see video how to open it.i want to upgarade it until 250 gb.but i dont know what type of hard disk i have to use to upgare my hard drive
Wow Eligh you’re completely wrong. Anything over 250 gig needs the jtag mod/exploit because the largest ss.bin file is 250gigs.
All 360 hdd’s have a file hidden on them called the ss.bin file. This file allows the hard drive to be used as a memory unit. Each ss.bin file is unique just like the eeproms from the original xbox that controlled the locking security feature.
You can buy a compatible drive and get it to work with your xbox by using a tutorial.
For example a new 120gig hdd from gamestop is $150, though if you buy just the drive it’s about $51 by itself. Search for wdgwd1200bevs

I’m currently working on a jtag box with a 2TB drive. If you want to go the jtag route you’ll have to have a dash older then 2.0.8, these xboxs are in high demand and are much harder to get.

Eligh you’re still wrong. You fail to notice that the update was made to target datel devices. Their cheap memory cards hurt microsofts sales figures so they released an update to ban the id datel used for mass production. Datel never contacted microsoft for a contract to sell memory devices. This was the same case with the controllers when The Xbox 360 launched. That’s why there’s a computer controller that looks exactly like a 360 controller but isn’t. They designed it and couldn’t get the approval from microsoft.

Anyway the hard drives weren’t affected, only the unauthorized datel memory devices were targeted. They sent out the update then it would corrupt the profiles on the datel devices and render them inoperable. Datel actually fired right back with a lawsuit.

Just so you know i’m 100% positive that update didn’t effect hacked hard drives. I cloned my 120gig using my ss.bin and it’s still working, obviously they can’t tell the difference between the original and the clone.
